CITY OF MADEIRA’S FRIENDLY FOURTH PARADE

Staging: 4:00pm Step off: 6:00pm

Recruit your neighbors, your students, your employees and your friends to join the City of Madeira’s long-running tradition down Miami Avene showcasing your patriotic spirit in the city’s annual Independence Day Parade. The parade will take place on Thursday, JULY 3. Residents, neighborhoods, local businesses and neighboring organizations are invited to be part of this tradition.

Continuing this year, all parade entries will automatically be entered into the Friendly Fourth Best Parade Unit contest. The winner will receive a framed certificate, recognition in the Madeira Newsletter and a large red, white & blue ribbon to display on their parade unit in future years.

ENTRY DEADLINE: June 25, 2025
Entry into the Madeira Friendly Fourth is FREE.
Entrants must abide by the guidelines set forth below.
Please note: Parade route is subject to change if road construction requires such adjustment. Parade entrants will be notified ahead of time if any route adjustments are made.

1) Units must register in advance.

3) All units registered are automatically entered into the ‘Best Parade Unit’ contest. Rules here: 2025 Madeira Friendly Fourth Parade Contest Entry Rules
4) Adequate adult spotters (2 or more) must accompany units with minors.
5) The route is 1.4 miles long. If you are considering a giveaway, we recommend around 200 pounds of candy or around 1,500 ‘pieces’ of your item (flyer, beads, min-flags, etc.) per parade entry group to ensure you can make it through the end of the route.
6) Please ensure any items distributed are safe for children.
7) Anything distributed to parade spectators must be handed out by parade walkers.
THROWING ITEMS FROM VEHICLES IS PROHIBITED.
8) Units must keep pace and should not stop along the route.
9) Any animal must be leashed/tethered. PLEASE BE KIND AND REMEMBER THE ROAD GETS HOT! Be prepared to PROTECT YOUR ANIMAL’S FEET from the hot surface!
10) Parade order assignments are at the sole discretion of the Parks and Recreation Board and will be given upon check-in at the parade staging/start location.
11) There is no participant parking at the staging location. Only registered parade vehicles are permitted on-site. Participant parking and shuttles will be provided and communicated to all parade units in advance.
12) Parade registrants are responsible for communicating all guidelines and day of check-in/parking/staging details with ALL of their parade unit participants.
